Cold days warm memories

 

Normally this time of year we are in a bit of a deep freeze...but temps on Saturday are going to reach 40* WooHoo!!! But short lived..will be back in the low 20's soon after. We live in Wisconsin so we know what to expect...

Kyra has come up with a new kit called "Wintry Cold" just right for all those outdoor winter fun photos! It's true ya know...we bundle up, go out and play, then get so cold and hurry back in. Our bodies might be a bit chilled from the experience but.....our hearts are filled with wonderful warm memories!!! My Family

Oh be honest....we all have those photos hiding somewhere that show our family at their very "Best" right? LOL I know I have a few. Somewhere I have a photo of my sisters and I at a very nice restaurant with our hubbies on New Years eve...and for some unknown reason (at least one I am not sharing right now) we all have napkins either on our heads or across our faces...go figure! Any way, you get the idea. Hope you enjoy this one and you find smiles and a few "What were we thinking" moments with this one. Thanks for stopping by. Attic Memories

This is a 5x7 quickpage using Kyra's kit again. Every once in awhile it is nice to do one this size so that it can be framed instead of put in a scrapbook. Hope you don't mind. A borderless frame is all you need...I know they have them at Walmart for about 97 cents. And what a gift this would make !!
Thanks for stopping everyone...I am off to find a cool spot to just sit!! It is so hot (and for Wisconsin that is a rare thing) heat index of about 103*  I am not a summer person anyway so I will not be complaining when Fall and Winter get here Nope!! Enjoy

We were young

Hot, muggy weather does not make for going outside and enjoying some summer fun...but....it does let me get on the computer and play!!!! Made this QP with another wonderful kit by Kyra, the kit is called " Sounds of Yesterday " My first thought was that song" Yesterday" and so this qp was created! I am going to go thru some old photos and see what I can come up with. I have baby pics of my hubby and me...might use those. Brothers and Sisters

Can't take full credit for these words this time. It was my birthday Monday and one of the cards I received included these words. I just thought they were so true and I wanted to share them with all of you. There is a special bond that exist there. Nothing and I do mean nothing can change that! Oh sure, fights happen (I seem to recall a broken bathroom door LOL, hey I had her sweater) but underneath any disagreement there is a foundation of love, trust and a sense of, oh I guess I call it completeness. Whatever it is, it is something to treasure. Hope you can use these bits. Don't forget to leave me a smile, as always you will get it back sometime, I promise!

Oh and I am sure you could come up with a few more words to describe your family right! LOL But we will keep those to ourselves LOL. The most important thing is that these people are family, they are where you go for comfort and care and a sense of security and no matter what faults they have or what disagreements you have, they are such an important part of you and who you are. They are there for you no matter what...always!

Glimpse

Somewhere tucked in an old shoebox is there an old photo of Christmas past? You know the one with the aluminum tree(complete with colored spot light) or the one that you got that special toy that only Santa knew you wanted, or the first Christmas after you were married or had your first child. Or the one where the whole family posed next to the tree. You all know the ones I mean...the one that makes you smile and remember and makes your heart overflow with joy. Gathering

Well friends, it's that time of year again...time to get out the good china (or at least the heavy duty kind of paper plates) clean out the oven in preparation for that big bird or ham, maybe even clean out the cobwebs. Whatever you do to get ready, it is time for the family to come together. Differences in life style, or politics or anything minor are put aside and you join each other knowing how blessed and loved you really are. I hope you can use this bit of mine to add to those family photos you know some one will be taking(even the funny ones)If I don't get a chance to tell you I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

So Thankful

Morning all! Was up early this morning (we have two pups who think waking us up before 6 is a good thing) so decided to finish my latest project. This is an 8x8 qp plus a small bit of thought too. As you will find out I have two favorite seasons....Fall and Christmas!!

A Difference

So overated

Ok, we all would like everything we do to be perfect right??!! Don't know about the rest of you but as for me, well I do tend to miss that mark once in awhile!! My hubby put a frame together once using pieces of old barn board, he worked so hard on it and I now have a picture of him holding that frame, only thing is he mixed up a short and long side !! LOL

When we do achieve perfection it is great but...sometimes it brings us more smiles and more memories when we miss the mark by a little bit. So I hope you can use this bit and that you smile when you go thru those "Just short of perfect" moments. You can download this little bit of thought here

Slightly Tilted

Yup our children, grandchildren, even siblings or even our fur babies, they are Angels right??!! But every once in awhile those Halos go a little off center LOL You know what I am talking about right!! My granddaughter is an angel, she really is but someone once said her Halo is alittle off. Beauty

I was going thru some pictures of my Grandma Sam, a wonderful Bohemian lady who taught me some wonderful lessons. I have some photos of her as a young bride ready to face the future and as an older woman who had lived that future. The one thing I noticed was although her face and hands had become wrinkled and aged...her eyes still held that beauty and wonder of the young girl in the first photo. That's where these bits of thought come from today. All to often beauty is judged by what is on the outside, when real beauty is often hidden and we don't see it unless we really look. A "Family" is

Some good friends of ours have adopted a precious little boy into their family. That's where this little bit of thought comes from. It also reminds me of my daughter and son-in-law and their blended family. Or what about those special friends that you consider a part of your family?
